Dusty Pig Designs was formally called Dragon Hearth Designs, due to my love of dragons. I decided to change the name once we moved to our forever home and started a farm. Our farm is called Dusty Pig Farm because we are raising and breeding Meishan pigs. You can learn more about our farm and the pigs on Instagram @dustypigfarm!
MY STORY
I have been creative my whole life. I have tried many different mediums for my creativity and have an entire workshop full of supplies as proof. I was a preschool teacher for many years. When 2020 rolled around, and the pandemic with it, my preschool was shut down. During that time my family found their love of homeschooling! When life started returning to the new normal, I decided I did not want to go back to teaching, because I wanted to continue teaching my own children. I needed to come up with something to make some extra money, to cover for not working in a school anymore. Lots of research on different hobbies that could make money brought me to laser machines. After a little convincing to my husband, I bought my first machine. I had no idea that machine would bring me to the business I have now, but I am so thankful! I discovered that I could cut out earrings (something I have loved collecting and wearing since I could remember) and I taught myself how to paint them and make them my own style. Soon, all my friends wanted some, and I knew I had a great business opportunity here! I started doing vendor events and craft shows and finally decided to venture into the online world...so here I am!
